Never say never...

Well, I spoke too soon!  Over the weekend my hubby and I went on a little shopping trip to Cool Springs.  It was so nice just to relax and get some early Christmas shopping done.  I was not feeling so hot when I woke up that morning but I had a sinus funk going on so I didn't pay to much attention to it.  Well by the time we sat down for dinner, at J. Alexander's mind you, I had a severely painful sore throat and chills like crazy.  Once we got home, I immediately got into my pj's and snuggled down in my bed.  My hubby came up and took my temperature and well it was 102.  I knew I didn't feel good but I took some medicine and just went to sleep.  I woke up every hour with a rush of heat or chills all down my back.  When 8:00 o'clock rolled around, I decided it was time to get up and go to the doctor.  My hubby drove us there and while we were waiting I kept telling him "I know they are going to give me a strep test but I never have strep...I hate that test!"  Well sure enough we get in the room and they give me both the strep and flu tests. (Both are VERY unpleasant, BTW.)  The nurse left the room and I told my husband "I probably have the stinkin' flu.  I know I don't have strep because I have never had that.  My brothers used to pass it back and forth when we were younger and I never got it."  Needless to say, I spoke too soon.  The doctor came in and said "well it is clear as day, you have strep throat."  I could not believe it!  So now I am slowly recovering and have had the past two days off to recuperate.  Tomorrow may be difficult but hey at least it will only be a three day week for me!  :)

Disappearing act???

No, I am still here.  Ever since school has started it seems so hard for me to get on here any more.  I barely have time to do the things I do whether it is at school or home.  We have been busy, lazy, busy, lazy...well you get the picture.  We have done several things since my last blog.

Our niece turned two in September, we got to go to her birthday party.  It was too cute!  She had a blast of course.  She is such a character and has the cutest faces ever.  Here is one of my fave photos I caught of her on that day.

Our October has been super busy.  My parents have season tickets to the Vols games.  Even though we are NOT fans of UT, we did appreciate getting to watch our team BAMA play them.  We had a fantastic time with my parents.  It was so nice to spend time with them.  We have been so freaking busy with everything that it was almost like being home when we were with them.  We miss being able to go home more often!  Hopefully we can find that happy medium somewhere.  Here are a few pics from the UT game:

We also celebrated Halloween this past month.  It was our first Halloween as a married couple.  So we bought some pumpkins and had our own little pumpkin carving party.  It was quite amusing because neither my husband nor I like having dirty hands.  And well you cannot carve a pumpkin and maintain clean hands.  So we were both grossed out a time or two.  However, our pumpkins turned out very cute.  I loved them!

Now we are in the month of November and it feels like Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  I am very excited about Thanksgiving because I all by myself, will be making a Thanksgiving feast for my hubby and I.  Not going to lie, I am a little nervous about it but then again I cannot wait!  I had a great teacher (thanks, mom!) so it should be a piece of cake...lol!  Or at least I hope.

I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by.  In just a couple of weeks, my husband and I will be married for 6 months!  It just sounds insane to say that.  It feels like it was just last week that we were getting married and leaving for our honeymoon.  It has been a fantastic six months and I cannot wait for the many more to follow.  Maybe next time, I won't take so long to blog!

XOXO,
The Walker Wife
